During middle school, your child is experiencing significant physical, mental, social, and emotional changes as they transition into adolescence. They have a growing need for independence, and it’s the perfect time for them to start taking on more responsibility.

Our private middle school program in Newtown, PA, is more than just a bridge between elementary and high school. It’s a time when students will be stretched academically, socially, and emotionally with an enriching community that fully prepares them for the challenges in high school and beyond.

• Math & Science: Students take core academic subjects beyond textbooks. They might be programming robotic vehicles in the science and design labs or using linear equations to solve real-life consumer needs in math class.

• Writing & Languages: Students sharpen their creative skills by engaging in book clubs in English, acting out student-written plays in Spanish, or writing essays supported by analysis of primary documents in social studies.
• Distinct Electives: Sixth graders enjoy weekly art and music classes. Seventh and eighth graders choose from a range of elective courses. Students can explore interests in musical theater, tech studio, diversity, coding, and visual arts.

• Stronger Community
  Advisory groups of 12-15 students from all three grades meet three times weekly to work through the Developmental Designs curriculum. It’s an approach that helps students form close bonds with peers and develop strategies for managing social pressures and academic challenges.

• Purposeful Mentorship
  Students develop meaningful relationships with each other and the trusted adults around them. Advisors handle the everyday challenges of adolescence with compassion, experience, consistency, and humor. Students remain in the same advisory group for three years, and their advisor becomes a crucial connection point for the family and an advocate for the child.

• Student Empowerment
  The groups provide students with a level of freedom while instilling a sense of ownership in their education. Middle schoolers feel encouraged, valued, and much more engaged in learning.
