While Newtown Friends will host the youngest campers, George School has additional programming for older students.
The
Summer Academy Program offers in-person summer enrichment opportunities and STEM courses for students ages 8-14.
Academic enrichment courses are designed to help students ages 11-14 explore new subjects and ideas and build critical skills to prepare for the upcoming school year. Courses include Creative Writing, Summer Reading, Math Bridge Courses, Leadership and Public Speaking, and Robotics. Courses can be mixed and matched to create an academic experience tailored to your child.
Summer 2023 includes the addition of STEM courses run by Black Rocket Productions (ages 8-14). The magic in every student comes to life as never before when they are empowered to be as creative as they were all born to be! Black Rocket has over twenty years of experience designing courses in the S.T.E.A.M fields. Every program is powered by the child’s innate imagination and designed to bring their ideas to life in a fun, hands-on learning environment. All Black Rocket programs mirror real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the design process. Students will work in pairs or teams for in-room programs.
George School Sports Camps are the perfect place for young athletes ages 8-15 to fine-tune their skills and gain confidence while having fun. Our sports camps emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and individual development. Sports camp directors are selected for their expertise in their sport, and for their passion, commitment, and experience working with young athletes. They have experience as college athletes and/or as coaches at the high school or collegiate level. Sports camp programs include basketball, cheerleading, equestrian, and soccer.
