Admissions

Admission Process

Newtown Friends School is currently considering applicants for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Individual family tours may be arranged in the evening or on the weekend by contacting the Office of Admissions at (215) 968-2225.

Admission to Newtown Friends School is selective because of the limited amount of space and the large number of applicants. To apply for admission, please complete an online application by January 15.  After January 15, applications will be considered on a rolling basis and where space permits.

List of 4 items.

  • Pre-K Applicants

Upon receipt of the completed application, we invite the child to visit the school for a small admissions playgroup, at which time we evaluate each child.   Our goal during this process is to provide opportunities for the school to determine if Newtown Friends School can provide for the educational needs of each applicant.  Please note that it is generally required that a child be four years of age prior to the start of our pre-kindergarten program.
  • Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Applicants

Upon receipt of the completed application, we invite the child to visit in our classroom, at which time we evaluate each child. Our goal during this process is to provide opportunities for the school to determine if Newtown Friends School can provide for the educational needs of each applicant.

*Currently, Newtown Friends School is scheduling applicant visits outside of school hours.
  • Family Visits

During the admissions process, families are required to meet with the Director of Enrollment Management and tour the school.  These visits are currently being scheduled outside of school hours.
  • Admissions Decisions

Families who have completed the application process will be notified of the admission decision by February 15.  In order to reserve a space in the class, admitted applicants must submit an enrollment agreement and deposit by March 1.
