Admission Process

List of 4 items.

  • Pre-K Applicants

Upon receipt of the completed application, we invite the child to visit the school for a small admissions playgroup, at which time we evaluate each child.   Our goal during this process is to provide opportunities for the school to determine if Newtown Friends School can provide for the educational needs of each applicant.  Please note that it is generally required that a child be four years of age prior to the start of our pre-kindergarten program.
  • Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Applicants

Upon receipt of the completed application, we invite the child to visit in our classroom, at which time we evaluate each child. Our goal during this process is to provide opportunities for the school to determine if Newtown Friends School can provide for the educational needs of each applicant.
  • Family Visits

During the admissions process, families are required to meet with the Director of Enrollment Management and tour the school.  Upon receipt of an application, a family will be contacted by the Office of Admissions to make these arrangements.
  • Admissions Deadline and Decisions

To apply for admission, please complete an online application by January 15.  Applications received after the January 15 deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis as space permits.

Update:  Although the January 15th application deadline has passed, applications continue to be accepted where space permits.  Some grades have a waiting pool, while others have available space.  We encourage you to contact us today to learn more.

Families who have completed the application process will be notified of the admission decision by February 28.  In order to reserve a space in the class, admitted applicants must submit an enrollment agreement and deposit by March 1.
