TASC

Standing for The Agents of Social Change, TASC is a vibrant and diverse student group open to all Middle School students. The club, founded on the belief that “we will be able to make a difference in our world,” promotes service, school spirit, mentoring, and leadership opportunities. Meetings are typically held during the school day, enabling students to participate despite after-school commitments. TASC members learn to use Quaker process in decision-making. Students are mentored in clerking their own meetings, reaching consensus, and working together respectfully and cooperatively with the help and support of faculty members.

Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee’s purpose is to provide a space for students’ voices to be heard and for students to have a place where they can discuss diversity topics and create events, activities, and generate conversation for their peer group.

Human Rights Committee

The Human Rights Committee is a student-led social action group that works to raise awareness of human rights issues both local and global. Initiatives have included clothing drives, letter-writing campaigns, and leading Morning Meeting or read alouds with Lower School friends.

Stewardship Committee

The student Stewardship Committee educates our community about responsible consumption and disposal of goods and resources, including maintenance of our composters.  Committee members visit classrooms of younger students to teach lessons about recycling and composting.  Students use Quaker process to make decisions about encouraging greener behaviors in our community.

Sunshine Committee

The Sunshine Committee aims to spread kindness and promote camaraderie throughout our school and the local community. The Committee lifts spirits and promotes friendship by offering opportunities for social gatherings and kindness initiatives.

Math League

Students in Math League participate in an online nationwide competition with over a million students.  In advance of the competition, students practice by completing online contests, playing math games and solving logic puzzles.

Yearbook

This committee designs and creates the all-school yearbook, a wonderful collection of memories for the whole community.  Students chose the theme and design the layout, as well as contribute photography.
