Partnering with AIR to Provide Mental Health Training

At Newtown Friends School, caring for the whole child includes supporting the mental health and well-being of our students and families.

We are grateful to partner with Attitudes in Reverse (AIR), an organization dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental health and providing vital education and resources. Through engaging sessions with AIR, our students and parents are learning how to recognize signs of emotional distress, build resilience, and support one another with empathy and understanding.

This meaningful programming has been made possible thanks to the Shah family, and especially Rayan Shah (Class of 2024), whose passion and involvement with AIR helped bring this opportunity to our community. We are thankful for his leadership and commitment to making a difference.

We also extend our appreciation to AIR’s incredible staff and to our Director of Equity and Inclusion, Sydney Lewis, for helping guide these important conversations.
