Support NFS

The Advancement Office is dedicated to advancing the mission of Newtown Friends School.  One of its main functions is to encourage a spirit of philanthropic support and volunteer engagement between the School and members of the NFS community.
The Advancement Office also encompasses our Alumni Relations program that helps alumni stay connected to NFS and to fellow graduates.  Through planning class reunions, participating in alumni events, volunteering in the classroom, supporting the Annual Fund, and sharing news for publication in our magazine, This Friendly Place, alumni are a vital part of the NFS community.

The Advancement Office also is responsible for organizing a range of events and community outreach efforts including Upper and Lower School Grandparents & Special Friends Days, Fall Fest, Alumni & Family Day, the Leadership Donor Reception, the 8th Grade Breakfast, and special alumni gatherings.  Volunteers help make these annual events a success.  Through publications including This Friendly Place magazine, the Annual Report of Gifts, and the weekly parent e-newsletter, the Advancement Office strives to keep the NFS community informed and connected.

Newtown Friends School grows stronger each year due to the volunteer and financial support received from parents, alumni, grandparents, alumni parents, faculty, staff and friends in the business community.  This tradition of generosity and commitment continually enriches the school and our students.  As an independent school, Newtown Friends School relies on both tuition and gifts to continue its tradition of offering an outstanding education grounded in Quaker values. Although tuition covers most of the basic costs of operating the school, it must rely on the generous financial support of our families, alumni, and friends to continue to attract and retain exceptional teachers, remain an option for families of diverse economic backgrounds, and provide unique and innovative curriculum opportunities for students—elements that define us as a school and community.
